Hygienists Love Enamelast 3 RDHs Share Their Reasons Why
Fluoride varnish can play a major role in preventive treatment—but bad flavors, unsavory textures, uncomfortable thicknesses, and off-colors of many varnishes have given countless patients not-so-pleasant experiences.
“ไม่เคยมีใครบอกว่ารสชาติมันแย่เลย” Mandy Faucette, RDH กล่าว “ในช่วงที่ผ่านมา ฉันมีคนไข้ [ผู้ใหญ่] จำนวนมากสนใจรสชาติที่ไม่ใช่รสมินต์ พวกเขาชอบ Walterberry™ และ Orange Cream มาก”
Faucette says pediatric patients appreciate the variety of flavors as well. “Children tend to like non-mint flavors, so they usually like the Bubblegum, Walterberry, and Orange Cream. They tend to gravitate toward those because they don’t have the spiciness of mint,” she says. “With Enamelast [varnish’s] non-mint flavors, I haven’t noticed kids saying it’s spicy at all. Even if it does end up on their tongue, they seem OK. We were using a different brand before, and if it got on their tongue, they were like, blahhh.”
“I would for sure use Enamelast [varnish] on me, because I know that it works, it’ll be palatable, and give me all the benefits I need in a varnish—plus, it’s sweetened with xylitol. I really like that,” Faucette adds.
Jeanie Gates, RDH, says flavor is a primary factor when choosing a fluoride varnish and she makes sure to try them herself before she uses them on anyone else. “Taste is a big part. If it’s awful, then no one is going to do it. So it has to taste good. But it also has to stay on [the teeth]. There are some other products that taste good too, but they’re off teeth in like half an hour.”
Enamelast varnish features a patented adhesion-promoting formula that enhances retention, providing superior fluoride release and uptake. “It’s absolutely the fluoride varnish I want used on me,” Gates says.
“Some of the other products I’ve used are very thick and yellow, they’re hard to spread and you can’t get it in the interproximal areas,” says Sheri Barton, RDH. “I like Enamelast [varnish] because you can get it into the interproximal areas near the gum line and it’s thin, so it spreads nicely.” She says it’s convenient for people who aren’t just heading home after their office visit. “It’s very thin and gives a nice clean coating, and it’s clear so patients can go back to work and not really notice it.”
Echoing Faucette and Gates, Barton gives a resounding,
“yes, definitely” when asked whether Enamelast varnish is her preferred fluoride varnish when she’s the patient. Along with the support of these three accomplished hygienists,
Enamelast varnish has been named a “Top 100 Product” by Dentistry Today and won six Reality Four Star Awards. Flavor, texture, a nearly invisible appearance, and ease of application make Enamelast fluoride varnish a favorite among patients and clinicians alike.
